Listing

Listing is another technique used to sort out thoughts and ideas. By compiling a list with words or phrases, ideas can be seen more clearly and gaps can be identified. After a clear direction has been established, a thesis statement can be formed.

Lists can be made for:

1.    the general topic
2.    about the particular claim or thesis idea
3.    words and phrases of the complete opposite to the original ideas Lists may contain words, phrases, or simple sentences, but they must all be related to the topic.
